Green Detox Smoothie
I make smoothies every morning for breakfast. It is a great way of getting more fruit, vegetables and other superfoods into my diet. Plus, smoothies and smoothie bowls taste so good and they are filling as well.
A green smoothie is the perfect way to get rid of toxins first thing in the morning, start your metabolism, and give you a boost of energy.
My preferred blends include local and seasonal fruits, greens (fresh or frozen), ginger, and fresh lemon juice. I always try my best to purchase local and organic ingredients so that my body will be able to absorb the best nutrients from this "green gold".
I must admit that I didn't like green smoothies before. When I became vegan, I discovered a whole new perspective on healthy eating, including green and detox smoothies. And Voilà, green smoothies literally turned my whole life around. I realized that green smoothies can improve my digestion and my skin, help me to maintain my ideal weight, and boost my energy levels. It is an excellent source of antioxidants and valuable nutrients too!
I like to add dates or other vegan sweeteners such as agave syrup to improve the flavor of my green smoothie. Tropical fruits also make your green smoothie tastes better. Do not forget to add spices such as ginger, cinnamon or vanilla. I like to add 2-3 ice cubes to my blender.
GREEN DETOX SMOOTHIE 🍏
Ingredients
(Ready in about 5 minutes | Servings 1)
1 small-sized pear
1 small-sized green apple
2 plums
1 medium-sized carrot
1 cup organic Swiss chard
1 teaspoon fresh ginger grated
1 teaspoon lemon juice
3 fresh dates, pitted
1 cup water
Directions
Simply process all the ingredients in your blender.
Pour into a glass and enjoy!
